XI Braga Meetings On Ethics and Political Philosophy
University of Minho
Braga, Portugal
(Online only)
June 9 -11, 2021
This year the Braga Meetings will have as a general topic the “Contemporary Challenges to Citizenship and Democracy” but, as always, we welcome proposals in any area of moral, political, or legal philosophy and in normative political theory. Moreover, we accept submissions for a Special Session on John Rawls’ life and work.
This year, exceptionally and due to the pandemic, the Braga Meetings will be held on an online-only format.
This event is organized by the CENTRE FOR ETHICS, POLITICS AND SOCIETY (CEPS), University of Minho (Braga).
The Braga Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy have established a reputation for providing scholars with an excellent opportunity to present both advanced and exploratory work to a welcoming audience. Graduate students, junior researchers and senior scholars are welcome to submit their work.

SPECIAL SESSION
Celebrating John Rawls: 100 years since his birth; 50 years after the publication of A Theory of Justice
This year the Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy include a special session in honour of John Rawls, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth and of the 50th anniversary of the publication of his major work, A Theory of Justice. This special session comprises panel presentations and plenary talks.
For the special session we welcome high quality presentations dealing with aspects of Rawls’ life and work. For submissions please use the form provided in this site and state clearly in your abstract that you wish to present in the special session (rather than in the general sessions).
